Do you take appointments or walk-ins?
We are by appointment. We can sometimes accommodate walk-ins. However, appointments will always take priority, and we can not guarantee service if you do not have an appointment. We can not guarantee that we have time and we can not schedule appointments over the phone. You can book an appointment here.
What metals to you pierce with?
We pierce with:
ASTM F-136 certified and inspected implant grade titanium.
Period. We do not use any other alloys through your body whatsoever. We are happy to use gold threadless heads on your initial piercing. We will never put anything into your body other than verified safe implant grade titanium.
How long will it take, or what is the wait time to get pierced?
We pierce primarily by appointment. Walk-ins are possible, but spaces per day are limited so it’s always best to book ahead! The actual piercing takes just a few seconds! The entire process takes about 30 minutes (we sterilize each piece of new jewelry for your specific procedure. You even get to sign and verify the sterile test strip yourself. (It’s takes bit longer if you’d like to shop for a particular piece of jewelry so remember allow time before your appointment to shop!)
How long will it take my piercing to heal?
Healing times vary for all piercings. We provide an aftercare guide with the average healing time, downsize date, size and type of jewelry. The piercer will also discuss your healing in the room when they go over care.
Your jewelry will be purposely longer or bigger in diameter to allow for any possible swelling. Due to this, once the swelling has gone down, you may need to purchase a smaller post or ring if it bothers you (you can reuse the original bead you choose, however). Nevertheless, if you feel you need to switch sooner, our piercer will be happy to check (book an assessment under other services) to see if you are ready.
Do you do special orders?
Yes! We do special orders from APP certified Body Jewelry Programs. We also have ear curation appointments available to discuss overall style, fitting and installation of your next look! Ask about our current vendors and styles!
Does it hurt?
The average response we get from people after they've been pierced is, "That’s it? We’re done?!" Followed by BIG smiles. It is a piercing, however, and the do of course carry a bit of a pinch. For best results, be well rested, well fed and sober! Seriously. Thinking of these simple things ahead of time make the entire experience more tolerable! DO NOT use any numbing agents. They will distort your skin and may make your piercing crooked once the numbing subsides.
Why do I have to eat before getting pierced?
Eating a healthy meal within four hours before getting pierced will improve your piercing experience. It reduces the chance of feeling faint and helps your body better manage any discomfort while getting pierced. We cannot pierce you if you have not eaten recently. We do have snacks available, but it’s best to have a well fed and settled belly! Please avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, excess caffeine, as they may cause excessive bleeding.
Will you pierce my babies earlobes?
We require informed consent for all piercings. Babies can’t give that, so we don’t pierce them. We do pierce earlobes on minors, aged 10 and up, by appointment only. Please contact us for current policies on earlobe piercings for minors. Our minimum age for limited body piercings is 16 (with all approved paperwork and parent present).
Are children allowed in the studio?
No one under the age of 16 years is allowed unless they are getting pierced. Don't get us wrong; we love children! However this is NOT a child friendly environment. We can not stress enough that we do NOT allow children in the studio. If you have an appointment for a child under 16 to have their earlobes pierced, only that child will be allowed in the studio.
Why do you make a big deal about me touching my piercing/jewelry?
**Jewelry in Your Body** Many people come in to get pierced, find new jewelry for healed piercings, or have their piercings checked for issues. It’s natural to want to touch your piercing when talking about it. However, whether your piercing is new, healed, or has problems, we want to prevent any harm from foreign bacteria. We aim to reduce the transfer of bacteria between people. Quite simply do NOT touch your piercings!
**Jewelry on Display** We do not allow you to touch the jewelry you plan to buy in the studio. This helps prevent jewelry from being dropped. We have had small pieces get lost forever, and larger gauge pieces get broken too often, not to mention how many hands can “look” at things for sale. Our policy is to prevent this. We can place it in a secure container for you, but we do not allow handling of our jewelry.
Can you numb the area before I get pierced?
Unfortunately, we cannot do so since as it is unsafe and causes crooked, ugly piercings. But frankly, it isn’t typically painful enough for all of that.
Can I hide my piercing?
Septum piercings can be hidden immediately upon being pierced. You may wear retainers (clear or otherwise), after the piercing is fully healed. We also carry “freckle tops” which are matte finish threadless tops that look like a freckle!
Can I get my nostril pierced with a ring? I want it to be nicely fitted.
It will be best to use nostril screw or a labret back until you completely heal. That super cute, tiny ring will have to wait about four (4) months for you to heal, as wearing a fitted ring will cause undue stress and trauma to your piercing,. A ring large enough to allow for the healing process would just be a dang big ugly flappy ring on your face and we don’t want that for you.
Can my friend take photos or videos while I'm getting pierced?
Sure, you can, but only in our lobby area. We do not allow guests in the piercing room during procedures. Phones must remain in your pocket or bag while in the piercing room. Out of respect for our piercers and staff's privacy, we do not allow video recordings or photos of a piercing.
Can I get pierced with that dangly piece?
We love chains, charms, and dangly pieces. We typically cannot pierce with them. They put extra weight on the jewelry. The piercing may not heal, may have problems, or it may migrate/reject right out of your body altogether.
Can I get pierced while pregnant or nursing?
It is unlawful to get any body modification during pregnancy. This includes tattoos and piercings. If you would like to have your nipples pierced, please see us three months after you’ve stopped producing breast milk.
Should I twist or rotate the jewelry during the healing period?
ABSOLUTELY NOT. Do not grind dried excretions from your body back into your body. And as always, remember the first rule of body piercing: We don’t touch our body piercings. They are adorned holes in our bodies, not fidget toys!
Can I sleep on my new/unhealed piercing?
Our aftercare sheets give a time guideline on how long each piercing generally takes to heal; this is how long you should avoid sleeping on it. Firm neck pillows work great for side sleepers with new ear pieces (put your ear in the hole); but it is best to avoid sleeping directly on your new piercing. (For example, a navel piercing on a belly sleeper will NEVER heal.)
I am going on a trip. Is it a good idea to get pierced?
It is better to wait. Enjoy your trip, and don’t worry about healing a new piercing. See us after you return; we’ll be here!
Is it okay to swim while healing a piercing?
Swimming or bathing in any body of water is going to expose your newly pierced tissue to soak in harmful bacteria. A dirty toilet’s worth, in fact. Don’t sit in people soup, even if it is a “clear stream”. Avoid swimming until you've passed your minimum heal time provided during your piercing appointment.
I saw a picture online of an ear with multiple cartilage piercings. Can I get that?
If you have the anatomy for it, yes! We are happy to help you determine what will work for your unique anatomy. Some may not be able to be done all in one visit, but we can help you curate a plan that will work for you!
Will it leave a scar?
All piercings can and typically do leave a small visible scar. From small discoloration, bump, dimple, or a permanent hole, proper healing depends on how your particular body heals and how well you care for your piercings.
What do you charge to change or install jewelry?
Our Jewelry installation fee is $20 (plus the cost of new jewelry). We process and clean the jewelry before installation, and this fee covers our equipment and service. We add $5 per piece beyond the first, unless you make a jewelry purchase of $200+, in which case we charge a single installation fee.
Return Policy
All jewelry sales are final. Once a piece of jewelry is purchased, that sale is final. We do not accept returns or exchanges on body jewelry under any circumstances. All of our body jewelry has a lifetime craftsmanship guarantee, and can be replaced if broken (only if purchased through our studio). However we do not, under any circumstances whatsoever, exchange or accept returns on sold, i.e. “USED” jewelry.
What form of payment do you take?
We accept cash, tap & pay, debit, and credit cards.
